Spacehab Antenna Pointing System

Status: Completed project, September 1999 -- August 2001
Type: New Sensor Concepts

A GPS attitude sensor was developed for an antenna pointing system on the Spacehab Double Module which occupies the Shuttle Orbiter bay.

The attitude sensor allows the Spacehab antenna platform to be pointed to a geostationary  satellite while the Shuttle is orbiting the Earth.  This enables high bandwidth communications with the Spacehab module during missions without using the NASA telemetry system.
