International Space Station GPS Receiver Support Task

The purpose of this task is to provide testing, analysis, and software support for the flight deliverable of the GPS receiver attitude software to the International Space Station (ISS).

The Space Integrated GPS/INS (SIGI) receiver is manufactured by Honeywell, Inc. and is the primary navigation and attitude sensor on ISS.  UT-Austin was contracted to modify the original flight software that performs the attitude determination function inside the receiver.  The GPS receiver that was used was a Trimble Navigation Force-19 receiver.  The receiver was originally designed as an avionics grade terrestrial receiver which was modified in software for space use.
